On 5/1/24, Annual Athletics Meet was organised for Goenkans from grade 6 to 12, I e, for level I, II and III . This event also marked the closure of Inter House Sports events for the session for the same grades, as being the last event on the chart for them, the athletes, of these levels for both Boy’s and Girl’s, competed in the true spirit of the game. The meet was declared OPEN, by our respected Principal Madam, along with words of motivation and encouragement, which boosted the spirits of all Goenkans . Director Sports, also addressed the athletes and shared his views on the importance of this annual event along with his emphasis for the development of so essential Sports Culture amongst the students.
4 * 200 MTS Relay race, Standing Broad Jump, Shotput Throw, 100 Mrs Sprint race and a 2 km Marathon, were the events, where the participation of Goenkans was astonishing, both for Boys and Girl’s separate events, mentioned above.
This is the First ever Athletics Meet organised at the Campus for the Students, under the guidance of ever encouraging Management, Principal and educators.
The house spirit was a highlight to be witnessed during the entire event which started early morning and ended just before the scheduled departure time, and were under the continuous motivation by the respective House Mistresses.
Jhalak Sharma, Animesh, Kalp Jain, Aryan Bhartiya, Priyanshi, Anuprita, Abdul, along with many more were a delight to watch for their mesmerizing performances for various events.
The winners were proud to receive the reward for their performances by receiving a Medal, awarded by respected educators and the sports mentors of the institution.
The smile on the faces of Goenkans was the catch for all us mentors, who indeed were so involved to bring out the best from Goenkans.
Mr. Deepak Gurjar, Mr Prashant, Mr. Ritesh, Mr Ruchir, Mr Aditya, Ms. Meena Joshi, Ms. Ambujakshi, Ms. Shubhangi, Ms. Nidhi Shrivastav, Mr Piyush,Ms Nair, and the entire team of Sports Mentors, along with the Ground Staff, indeed are to be thanked for the success of this flawless event.
