Janmashtami celebration Report

The birthday of Lord Krishna is celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm, on Janmashtami. Krishna Janmashtami, also known as Krishnashtami, is observed on the Ashtami tithi, the eighth day of the dark half or Krishna Paksha of the month of Shraavana.

On Thursday August 18, 2022, the children of GD Goenka Public school Indore celebrated Janmashtami. The students of Pre-Primary and PYP (Primary Years Programme) came traditionally dressed as Radha and Krishna. A splendidly colorful program was organized by the children of the school; where students presented dance performances and a short role play. The mythological storie on Krishna, Kalia Mardan was presentd through a play and narration by the students of grade 2. The students were overjoyed when Krishna defeated Kaliya Naag. The students of grade 1 presented beautiful dance performances on the songs ‘Choti-Chiyi gaiya’ and ‘Makhan Chor’.
