*‘When words fall short to express the language of the mind, soul and heart, Art helps translate.’*

In continuum to the encouragement of expression, the school provides various platforms to the students to hone their skills, foster passion and confidence. The school focuses on the holistic development of the students and endeavors to involve students in different aspects of life outside the classrooms o that they grow up as well-rounded personalities.

Keeping up with this vision, G D Goenka Public School, Indore, organized an Open Poster Making Competition for classes VI-XII on 21st April 2023.

The theme- ‘SAVE EARTH’, for the competition was with a view to sensitize them about the conservation of natural resources and to motivate them to do their bit towards making their planet even more beautiful because *“A true conservationist is a man who knows that the world is not given by his fathers, but borrowed from his children”.*

Our Principal, R K Singh encouraged the students to participate in the competition which led them to learn that Earth Day serves as a conscious reminder of how fragile our planet is and how important it is to protect it.

Through this competition, several participants created posters that illustrated a healthy atmosphere. The pupils painted their ideas about protecting the earth from pollution and other harm on pieces of paper. The children did an excellent job of portraying the threats to the planet, as well as the uniqueness of the planet, which was highlighted by the variety of hues used.

In addition to this, other students created a single poster that contrasted a healthy atmosphere with an unhealthy one. Not only that, but the students also added catchy slogans to their paintings to make the point they were trying to make.

For the young Goenkans, participating in the competition was like an indulgence since they were able to combine their artistic talent with the ideas presented on the painting sheet. Furthermore, the way the young artists illustrated the originality and splendor of the planet was outstanding.
